The phone reportedly went missing on Saturday night during Wizkid’s surprise appearance at the Nativeland concert, which was held at Sol Beach, Elegushi, Lagos.
The incident occurred during Wizkid’s energetic performance, when his phone accidentally fell. DJ Tunez, a close associate of Wizkid, made an urgent announcement from the stage, asking concertgoers to help find the phone. “While my brother Wizkid was performing, his phone dropped. Anybody who finds Wizkid’s phone, there’s ₦5 million waiting. It’s my boss’s phone. Please, if you find it, bring it to me,” he said.
DJ Tunez later reiterated the message on social media, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “I’m gooooooood! Please if you find Machala’s phone hit me up! Thank you!” The phrase “Machala” is a popular nickname for Wizkid among his fans.
