City & Crime gathered that the two suspected kidnappers, identified as Umoru Garuba and Salifu Ademu, were arrested on Tuesday around 2pm during an operation in the community.

Locals said the hoodlums had been terrorising the community for months.

However, luck ran out on them when the villagers sighted them at their usual spot and raised an alarm, which led to their arrest after a hot chase by vigilantes and men of the Police Quick Response Unit on patrol.

Salami Abdullahi, a resident and member of the community policing in the area, said “For months, the hoodlums laid siege on Ibobo community in Biraidu district, Dekina local government, making life difficult for everyone.

“On Tuesday, acting on a tip-off from the villagers, the operatives of the Kogi State vigilante in a joint operation with operatives of Quick Respond Unit of the state police command apprehended two of the hoodlums, while the others escaped.”

The suspects were said to have been handed over to the police at Anyigba. The state police command’s spokesman (PPRO), SP Williams Aya, was yet to respond to enquiries on the incident up to the time of filling this report yesterday.. ..ALSO READ FULL FROM SOURCE ↔️
