Utweets reports that the clashes, which occurred between January 4 and 5, 2025, have left many injured and forced residents to flee their homes.

These neighboring communities have a history of sporadic boundary disputes, often leading to fatalities. The latest outbreak of violence is the second reported invasion of the Ukwa Mbiabong Ukwa community in six months.

In May 2024, a similar conflict over land believed to contain valuable mineral resources resulted in several deaths.

Sources from Mbiabong Ukwa allege that suspected warlords from the Isu community launched the attack early Saturday morning, targeting unsuspecting villagers.

A youth leader, Willy Esara, provided details:

“The assailants descended upon us on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two men and leaving ten others severely injured.”

Another account reported that attackers ambushed villagers en route to their farms, opening fire and killing two men, Abi Effiong Oku and Inyang Nya Ewa. One victim was reportedly beheaded.

The attack has plunged the Ukwa Mbiabong Ukwa community into fear and uncertainty, with residents fleeing the area for safety.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the Kogi Command, Irene Ugbo, stated that they had not yet received a briefing on the incident but assured that investigations would commence.POLITICIANS ARE NOW GETTING INTO TROUBLE GRADUALLY! $3X TAP3 V!DEO OF ANOTHER PROMINENT POLITICIAN LE4KED ON SOCIAL MEDIA | WATCH NOW BEFORE IT’S DELETED.
