The Toyota Quantum, which had been left abandoned at the main entrance of the Vhurivhuri-Golwe picnic campsite, was eventually recovered after a manhunt over the area initiated by the rapid response of the South African Police Service (SAPS). The search resulted in the arrest of two of the four suspects; the other two escaped and continued on the run.
On several allegations, including attempted murder, robbery, and hijacking, the two individuals who were apprehended are expected to make an appearance in court. Separate attempted murder and house robbery allegations in Makuya will bring extra charges against one of the accused.
