The father of Timilehin Ajayi, the gospel singer arrested for the brutal killing of a corp member, Salome Adaidu, has made a public appeal for his son’s release. The tragic incident occurred in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, a community close to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
While Salome’s family continues to mourn, Ajayi’s father, in an interview with Channels Television, pleaded for government intervention. “I want the government to help me settle this matter. I want them to plead for his release,” he said.
In contrast, Ajayi’s mother expressed a different stance, stating she had left everything in the hands of the government.
“If it was one of my daughters they did that to, how would I feel?” she said. “The government can do whatever they want. Everything is in their hands.”
Ajayi, who also promotes himself as a motivational speaker on TikTok, confessed to the crime during interrogation. In a now-viral video, he explained that he and Adaidu had been in a relationship for a year before the tragedy. He claimed a heated argument led to a violent altercation in which Adaidu allegedly attempted to stab him.
Ajayi, known for his 2020 album God of the Earth, revealed that the rest of Adaidu’s remains were at his residence. Adaidu’s body has since been buried, with a viral video showing mourners performing the burial rites amidst audible weeping.
