The Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned what it called Iran’s continued aggression against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region, warning that the actions threaten regional peace and stability.

In a statement issued on Tuesday from Makkah, the global Islamic body described the alleged Iranian actions as “treacherous and indiscriminate,” accusing Tehran of violating religious principles, international law and established norms governing relations between neighbouring states.

The statement, released by the MWL General Secretariat, came amid heightened tensions in the region following reported strikes on United States military bases. The organisation said such developments risk further destabilising an already fragile security environment.

MWL Secretary-General, Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, was quoted as strongly denouncing what he termed “blatant aggression” against peaceful countries. He characterised the alleged attacks as acts of terrorism and “corruption on earth,” saying they breach humanitarian standards and bilateral agreements.

Al-Issa, who also heads the Organization of Muslim Scholars, accused Iran of targeting civilian areas and spreading fear among innocent populations, particularly during the holy month.

He expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other affected Arab states, commending their response to the escalation and their commitment to protecting national sovereignty, preserving regional security and preventing a wider conflict.

The MWL said it stands with the governments and peoples of the region in efforts aimed at safeguarding stability and averting further deterioration of the security situation.
