About 2,553,132.90 kilograms of illicit drugs were confiscated at Nigerian seaports between 2021 and 2025, data from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has shown. Findings indicate that these illicit drugs were valued at over N3tn.

According to the latest NDLEA statistics, the seizures, which were recorded across major seaports and marine commands nationwide, highlight both the scale of drug trafficking through Nigeria’s maritime gateways and the intensity of enforcement operations over five years.
The data shows that the total seizure, which stood at 96,690.90 kg in 2021, dropped sharply to 20,296.70 kg in 2022 and rose again to 86,169.54 kg in 2023. According to the data, the figures, however, surged dramatically in 2024 to an all-time high of 1,745,422.75 kg before settling at 605,553.01 kg in 2025.Read The; Complete Original.
