USED.Lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has fired Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over his comment suggesting that he turned down the activist’s appeal to become the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He said, “I saw one young man, they call him Adeyanju. He is from Kogi State. This young man came to me wanting to be the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, and I said no. He won’t be, and he was not. I have no regrets about it. He has suddenly become a civil society activist. He has no job, and that’s why he decided to turn to civil society activism.”
Displeased by Wike’s remark, Adeyanju slammed the minister and criticized his land-grabbing from the poor. He called Wike a tyrant who betrays everyone that helps him.
According to the lawyer, the former Rivers Governor is nothing without politics and is fond of disregarding the law.
The activist further urged Nigerians to consider joining politics, although he quits politics following his experience during his time with the PDP.
Speaking in an interview with the media on Friday, Adeyanju said, “I commend Governor Fubara for dealing decisively with him. That is how to deal with a tyrant. You must reduce them to nothing and show them that they are absolutely nothing. Wike is nothing without politics; he is nothing without our political coffers. The reason why he is making so much noise and being a nuisance all over the place is because of our collective patrimony that he loots and steals because of the land he is grabbing in the FCT. That is why he is making so much noise.
I have no interest in politics anymore; I have gone, I have tried, and I have seen that they can never change; they are dirty people; they do not play by the books. Even when I was in PDP, I was always critiquing them.
Wike is a very unreasonable person, I know him very well. We achieved our aim. We got him to go there and now the people are going to be relocated elsewhere. Its Adeyanju 1: Wike 0. Nobody changes the winning strategy. My strategy was to intimidate him, and I did it. If he goes after poor people’s homes again, I will do the same thing I have done to him now and we will get justice for the victims because there is due process of law. You are supposed to have gone to the tribunal, done the procedure, and if the people lose, they have the right of appeal to the High Court. None of these due processes was followed. He just took bulldozers and went to destroy their houses and claimed that they are shanties. He is indirectly saying that poverty is a crime. What crime have the people committed by being poor? There will always be the poor among us. All of us know Wike; he is a totalitarian; he does not know the middle ground.
The only difference between Wike and Portable is that Portable does not betray people that have helped him. But Wike betrays everyone that has helped him. Wike betrayed Goodluck Jonathan and his wife; he betrayed Rotimi Amaechi; Wike betrayed Peter Odili, people that have helped him. Is it Tinubu Wike will not betray?
Even President Tinubu is not that dull, he is politically savvy. He is just using the long spoon to deal with him and there is nothing you will do with Wike that is safe. Wike is the reason they raided the homes of judges. Wike is one of the reasons, allegedly, why former CCJN was removed from office. He kept going around saying he had the judiciary in his pocket and mentioning names. The only difference between him and Portable is that when you do something with Portable, at least Portable will not go against you and betray you, but no matter what you do for Nyesom Wike, he will betray you.
In his response to our criticism of him trying to buy and pocket the judiciary, he said it is the president that asked him to build houses and be giving judges cars. Was he not building houses for judges when he was the governor of Rivers State? Was it Bola Ahmed Tinubu that told him to build the houses? All these things that he is doing, the people that are doing deals with him, he will still expose all of them.
