He accused some major oil barons in Lagos State and Abuja of wanting his downfall.
Tompolo made this known during a working visit of the Nigerian Bar Association national executive, led by its President, Afam Osigwe (SAN), to Oporoza, the headquarters of the Gbaramatu Kingdom.
He claims that some powerful people outside the Niger Delta are behind the oil thieves in the region.
Tompolo stated that while trying to protect pipelines in the Niger Delta, he stepped on many toes.
