The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned the former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for allegedly accessing the telephone conversation of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
The former Kaduna governor is being prosecuted on a five-count amended charge before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Recall that El-Rufai had claimed in a live television interview that the phone lines of the NSA were tapped and his conversations were being monitored.
At the commencement of proceedings on Thursday, the prosecution informed the court that the charge had been amended from three counts to a five-count charge.
Consequently, the presiding judge, Joyce Abdulmalik, struck out the previous counts.
El-Rufai pleaded not guilty to the five-count amended charge.
