The Labour Party (LP) leadership has labeled former Presidential campaign spokesman Kenneth Okonkwo as one of the infiltrators in their ranks following his resignation on Sunday. Ifoh said, “Kenneth Okonkwo’s resignation from the Labour Party didn’t come to us as a surprise. We believe his attack on the party’s leader, Peter Obi, is unfortunate. However, we will not dignify him with a response, recognizing his attention-seeking behavior.”
He also pointed out recent defections, mentioning that the former Director General of the party’s presidential campaign, Doyin Okupe, had resigned and returned to the APC, followed by an ex-deputy Director General of the presidential campaign doing the same. He added, “Today, it is Mr. Okonkwo’s turn, a former APC member who infiltrated our presidential campaign, and we know his next destination.”
The party remains committed to supporting Obi as their leader and presidential candidate for the 2027 election. Ifoh emphasized, “Coordinated attacks will not diminish the trust Nigerians, especially the Obidients and youths, have in him. We believe a new Nigeria is possible with him.
