Real Warri Pikin explained in an interview with Saturday Beats that her inspiration for creating the series stemmed from her deep love for the Warri community. “What inspired me to create this series was my love for my Warri people and the fact that I generally wanted something original and very relatable,” she shared. “Apart from the series being hilariously entertaining and educational, it also sheds light on the ugly side of prostitution and the importance of making a critical decision in one’s life.”
The series centers around two sisters from Warri who set out for Lagos in search of a better life. However, when they are unable to locate an old friend who could help them, they are left stranded and must find creative ways to survive. Real Warri Pikin provided an overview of the plot, saying, “The series follows the journey of two sisters who leave Warri for Lagos in search of greener pastures. When they can’t find their old friend, they’re left stranded and must figure out how to make ends meet. As they take on a series of unconventional jobs, their adventures will keep you entertained and glued to your screen.”
The comedian emphasized that while the series is entertaining, it also addresses more serious themes. “Another point that really resonates is the issue of prostitution and how it should never be considered, no matter how difficult life may be,” she said. “It sheds light on the negative aspects of prostitution and encourages viewers to think critically before making life-altering decisions.”
