MacDonald Ubah who stated this while answering questions from Journalists at the Government House on the outcome of this week’s Executives Council Meeting, on Monday night, said the Security Agencies particularly the Army are up on their toes to ensure that the State is safe and secured especially with the recent lunch of the “Operation UDOKA”.
The Security Adviser said the joint Security Meeting between the Minister of Defense and the 5 Southeast states held last week was to chart a way forward for a formidable security architecture, adding that the Nigerian Army has made available the 3-digit line ‘193’ to deepen the confidence of civilians in the military.
“The meeting we held on Thursday is to ensure that there is collaboration among the five southeastern states and in the coming days you will see the outcome of this whole collaboration.
“To further strengthen the confidence building and winning the hearts and minds of our people, the Nigerian Army has provided a 3 digit line, 193.
“Once you dial that number on an MTN line, you’ll receive a response. So if there is any untoward situation you need the military to respond to, once you dial that number, the nearest military formation within your area will give you a response,” he said.
He further informed that Military checkpoints have also returned at the Umuokpara-Onuimo road to reduce the increasing criminal activities in the area, adding that a new regulation has been put in place to increase understanding between road users and the military on various checkpoints across the State
On the report that civilians are forced by the military to fill bags of sand at checkpoints, Macdonald said the State Government is providing concrete barriers for various checkpoints which is safer as an alternative to bags of sand, adding that the presence of Security personnel as seen in the capital city and other strategic places is for the safety of all.…READ THE FULL STORY FROM SOURCE : …READ THE FULL STORY FROM SOURCE
