According to the reports, Obi visited the legal luminary on Monday, December 9 at his office located on the campus of the institution.

Several reports suggest that Obi’s visit was related to the ongoing alleged defamation case initiated by Babalola against the Lagos-based human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi.

A source who spoke to Vanguard Newspaper mentioned that the visit may have been arranged by a former president who is a close associate of Aare Afe to explore alternative ways of resolving the defamation case against Farotimi, a prominent member of the Obidient movement.

Recall that Farotimi was arrested in Lagos and brought before a magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti over a petition written against him by legal icon Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, regarding alleged defamation in his book titled ‘Nigeria and Its Criminal Judicial System.’
