In a viral video that circulated widely on social media, Okpebholo made numerous attempts to state the figures of the Appropriation Bill titled “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo”.
The budget is estimated at N605 billion, indicating a 25 percent increase from the 2024 budget.
The video has sparked various reactions on social media, with many criticizing while others defended him. Responding in a post on X, Reno Omokri shared what he claimed to be the “original video”. What should have been a routine procedure turned into a challenge for Okpebholo as he struggled multiple times to pronounce the numerical value of the budget.
The viral video showed the governor stuttering. In his first attempt, he said, “The Edo State 2025 Appropriation Bill of 6 billion… 650… 605 billion… 76 thou… 76 million…
“Let me try again. 506 billion… 605 billion… sorry… 776 billion… sorry, it’s confusing me,” he said on his second try.ABOMINABLE ACT| PLEASE HELP ME I AM CONFUSED: My daughter is sweeter than her mother on bed. I Need Your Advice.

The governor revealed that N223bn, or 37 percent of the total N605bn budget, would be allocated to recurrent expenditure. The remaining N381bn, which represents 63 percent, is earmarked for capital projects.
“This budget is a result of extensive consultations and embodies my administration’s commitment to achieving its five-point agenda: security, infrastructural development, healthcare, food sufficiency, and education.
