In a post on X, Sowore criticized the recent court developments, particularly after the Federal High Court in Abuja granted Bello bail in the amount of ₦500 million, along with two sureties in like sum. The court decision came after Bello pleaded not guilty to the 19 charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Sowore condemned the turn of events, lamenting that Bello had become an “instant hero” in the courtroom following the bail decision. He described Nigeria as a “paradise for thieves,” saying that those who looted public funds, bankrupting the poor while enriching the elite, end up being hailed as heroes by both the rich and the poor.

In his ruling, Justice Emeka Nwite ordered that Bello’s two sureties must provide affidavits of means and prove ownership of properties located in Abuja. The court also instructed the Deputy Chief Registrar to verify the title documents for these properties.
