Justice Lawal Pedro, the Lagos State Attorney General and the commissioner of justice at a press briefing on Thursday, said four new bills were signed into law in the state.

The laws include the Human Organ and Tissue Transplantation Bill, the Consumer Protection Law, Lagos Enforcement Training Institute Laws, Victims Assistance, Witness Protection Laws and Fire and Rescue Service Laws.

According to the commissioner, the assent of the bills into laws shows the Lagos State governor’s commitment to ensuring justice in the state.

He said, “These Laws have been thoughtfully designed to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our state while paving the way for a more just, secure and prosperous future for all residents of Lagos.”

Highlighting some of the gains of the organ harvesting bill will address the issues of illegal harvesting, trading and unethical medical practices.
