The suspension follows a series of events that began when a group of disgruntled youths stormed the APC secretariat in Akure, the state capital, on Saturday, demanding Adetimehin’s resignation. The demonstrators reportedly placed palm fronds and a white coffin inscribed with the words “Adetimehin Must Go” at the entrance of the party’s new State Secretariat.
The youths were reportedly angered by Adetimehin’s alleged call for military intervention in Nigeria, which they felt could incite unrest. In response to these protests, the Executive Council members of the APC in Ofosu Ward, Idanre Local Government Area (LGA), convened an emergency meeting and subsequently suspended Adetimehin. The suspension letter was signed by the ward chairman, Olabisi Adepegba, along with 14 other executive members, including vice chairman Olabisi Oyewole and secretary Olanrewaju Akinnuoye.DID YOU MISSED THE TREND? However, the party’s Director of Publicity in Ondo State, Steve Otaloro, rejected the suspension, calling it “constitutionally flawed.” In a statement, Otaloro argued that the processes required by the party’s constitution had not been followed, making the suspension invalid. He described the reasons for the suspension as lacking substance and suggested that it was driven by personal grievances rather than legitimate concerns about leadership.
“The decision made by the Ofosu Ward Exco of Idanre LGA is inconsistent with the provisions of our party’s constitution and is, therefore, null and void,” Otaloro said. “The reasons cited for this suspension lack substance and detail, suggesting that the actions taken may stem from personal grievances rather than legitimate concerns about leadership.”
Otaloro further asserted that Adetimehin remains the legitimate APC chairman in Ondo State, emphasizing his critical role as the party prepares for upcoming local government elections. “We want to reiterate that Engr. Ade Adetimehin remains the rightful Chairman of the APC in Ondo State. His leadership is crucial as we prepare for the upcoming local government elections, where we are committed to achieving victory for our party,” he stated.
Otaloro also urged party members to maintain peace and avoid retaliatory actions against those involved in the suspension. He assured that those responsible for the breach of protocol would face consequences in due course, while the party’s focus would remain on the election campaign.GIRLS ARE ANGRY| AGAIN ANOTHER GIRL POISON 4 GUYS WITH PEPPER SOUP, ALL BECAUSE OF THIS, FOR MORE CHECK THE FULL FACT HERE.
