ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and stated that special operatives from the Command are pursuing the abductors.

The victim’s elder son, Alhaji Isa Sarkin Gobir, also confirmed the attack. He reported that the district head was ambushed by gunmen at Kwanar Maharba while traveling from Sokoto to Sabon Birni town, the headquarters of the Sabon Birni local government area.

According to him, the bandits, upon spotting the emir’s vehicle, began shooting, forcing the car to a halt. The suspected bandits then abducted the district head and his driver, who is his biological son.
