On Friday, VeryDarkMan took to his social media handle to explain that his charity foundation had fallen victim to hackers who accessed his website, leading to the alleged loss of the donated funds. According to his post, Nigerians had contributed the ₦160 million to support his charitable efforts, but the attack resulted in a significant financial setback for the cause.
However, this explanation has been met with skepticism from his followers, fans, and donors. Many have questioned how a website hacking incident could directly affect funds stored in a charity’s bank account. Criticism also came from the X Community Note, which refuted VeryDarkMan’s claim, stating that hacking a website does not necessarily result in the loss of funds from an account.
BLord Responds to the Controversy
BLord, a notable figure in Nigeria’s tech and cryptocurrency sectors, was quick to react to the ongoing controversy. The entrepreneur, who has faced his own share of criticism from Otse in the past, addressed the situation head-on.
In a post on his X handle on Saturday, BLord expressed disbelief at the claims, pointing out that a small website hack could not lead to the loss of such a substantial amount of money. He also mocked Otse’s handling of the situation, comparing it to his own approach to managing multiple apps and websites.
“You always call out others who run multiple apps when there’s a small issue with their users. Now, you lost ₦160 million because of a website that you didn’t manage properly. You think tech is as easy as selling singlets or pure water?” BLord wrote. “You better shut that website down for good; if you open another one, they’ll still hack it no matter how much security you put in place. This is what we, as techies, face every day.”
Despite his criticisms, BLord ended his post on a somewhat conciliatory note, stating that he still considered Otse his “boy” and hoped he would recover the lost funds. He also warned that if the situation wasn’t rectified, Otse could face legal consequences. “If you don’t recover that money, you must go to jail,” BLord added.
The Repercussions of the Incident
The allegations surrounding VeryDarkMan’s charity fund loss have sparked a wider conversation about accountability in online donations and the security of digital platforms. Critics argue that the public should demand more transparency from influencers and public figures when it comes to handling large sums of money, particularly in the charity sector.UPDATES: SEE HOW GUYS ARE USING LATEST iPHONE 16 Pro Max TO SCAN LADIES AND GET THEIR N4KED BODY.
