Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament next year, former Chelsea defender, Frank Leboeuf has rated four countries ahead of the Three Lions of England.

Leboeuf believes the likes of Spain, Portugal, Argentina and France are ahead of England, adding that they are not at the same level.

The Frenchman spoke after Harry Kane led England to defeat Albania 2-0 in their World Cup qualifier clash in Tirana on Sunday evening.

“I’m really fond of Thomas Tuchel,” Leboeuf told OLBG. “However, I believe a big footballing country like England doesn’t need a German coach to win the World Cup.

“It would have been difficult for me to accept, purely from a cultural perspective.

“That is why I’d say, ‘wait and see.’ It’s why I rank Portugal, Spain, Argentina, and France ahead of England.

“I don’t see England at the same level as the others right now,” he added.
