A woman has spoken of the “terrifying” moment she caught her ex-boyfriend eating a piece of her thigh after “surgically” removing a chunk. The woman says she was just 18 when she met her ex-boyfriend, who was 22 at the time. However, one night she believes her now ex spiked her drink when they were sitting in bed watching television. She claims she started to “feel a bit woozy” so “rolled over and went to sleep, waking up to the shocking sight of her partner chewing on her leg.
Speaking on the Other People’s Lives podcast, she said: “That night, it was pretty much the same as every other night, we were sitting in bed watching a TV show and I was drinking a Pepsi and I guess he had spiked it, he had roofied me.
“After about half an hour I started to feel pretty woozy and tired but I didn’t think anything of it, I was like ‘oh I’m getting tired’ so I just rolled over and went back to bed. And then I guess between 11pm and 1.30am is when he had done it.
“While I was passed out he put a black garbage bag beneath my leg and then put a towel on top of that. So it was bed, garbage bag, towel, my leg, and he had gotten these razor blades and I guess he cut a three-by-six inch give or take [piece] of the top of my right thigh.
“But he did it carefully, kind of like a body modification. It was mainly just the top layer, like the epidermis or whatever.”
The woman believes the man had paper towels and would “dab” each little segment of her leg after he cut it so it wouldn’t bleed excessively. She says she realised afterwards her leg was covered in “scar tissue and a bit of blood”.
However she soon noticed her ex was eating part of her leg. She continued: “He sat next to me on the edge of the bed and he was just trying to chew through it, I guess. He sat there with the piece of my skin in his hand and was just sitting there chewing on it and watching me sleep.”
The woman thinks her former partner “took quite a few bites” of her skin when she started to become conscious again. She then started to feel a pain in the part of her leg where the man made the incision.
She added: “I was like ‘the f*** is this pain’ and then I looked up and saw what was in front of me and all of the pain went away. I didn’t feel anything, there was no pain anymore and I thought I was having a really f***** up nightmare because this s*** doesn’t happen.”
She says she “didn’t fully comprehend” what had happened until her ex left the house. She felt unable to speak to him about what he was doing at the time because she felt “terrified”.
After he left, she contacted the police who came and examined her leg. He was arrested a short while later, still with a piece of her leg in her pocket.
The woman was taken to hospital where a toxicology result found the only drug she had in her system was from the Rohypnol. She says her ex was given a five-year prison sentence, which will entitle him for parole soon.
She added: “He can get parole soon. And every day I sit there and I’m like ‘that’s not enough’. In however many years he’s going to get out and possibly do this again. And that doesn’t sit right with anyone.
“We were just trying to figure out if this was like malicious intent, if he always had something against me, if he didn’t actually love me, or if he wanted to be closer and consume me in a way, or if this was some sick fetish he took too far.” The woman says she was felt “uncomfortable” talking to family about the incident as well as being “unable to eat” after the incident.
