At a rally in Abeokuta, the students voiced their concerns that the protest, scheduled to take place from August 1 to 10 nationwide, could be taken over by hoodlums, resulting in disorder and disrupting peace. Thomas Kehinde, the NAOSS National President, urged students to avoid the protest, stressing their desire to remain peaceful.

Kehinde remarked, “While we respect the right to protest, we will not be part of these demonstrations. We advise students to ignore any calls to join nationwide protests.” He cautioned that such protests could lead to violence, referencing the EndSARS protests.
