Monaco has signed 17-year-old Nigerian striker George Ilenikhena from Royal Antwerp for €20 million, after an impressive season with the Belgian Pro League side.

Ilenikhena joined Antwerp last season from Amiens SC for €6 million and made a significant impact, scoring 14 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions.

Notably, he scored a late winner against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League to help Antwerp to a remarkable 3-2 win in December.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Ilenikhena moved to France with his parents at a young age and quickly rose through the European football ranks.

Although he has represented France at the youth level since his debut in 2021, he still has the option to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria in the future.

Ilenikhena will become the fifth player of Nigerian descent to feature for Monaco, following in the footsteps of Victor Ikpeba, Sani Kaita, Henry Onyekuru, and Elderson Echiejile....For More CONTINUE THE FULL READING▶▶
