Mary Gichuhi, a mother of nine, emotionally revealed that she lost four children during a television interview.
The heartbroken mother who had a tough childhood also added that she endured a turbulent marriage life.
She recounted finding out how one of her children passed away, and only found the child’s body in the mortuary.
“One of my children was found dead and was taken to City Mortuary. I remember very well that it was in April. I looked for the kid from March to April. I was looking for my child with another woman when my brother told me that if someone is looking for a child or anyone missing, the morgue is a place to check out. I asked him if he knew anything about it, but he told me to check it out.
I had a dream, and in that dream, my dead mum told me not to look for the kid but the kid’s bones because she is the one who is with the child,” she cried.
Gichuhi said another woman told her there was a boy who was brought to the mortuary who resembled her.

She was given a number, 119, and was shown the way to confirm if the child was truly hers.
“My brother entered as I remained outside the mortuary, but later I was asked to follow him. I was shown the first dead body, but it was not his. I was shown another, and I told them he was not the one. They kept on showing me one body after another until we got to where my son’s body was. At that moment, they switched off the phone. They asked me what I would do if I got my son’s body.
I only wanted to see him to confirm that he was truly dead. When they showed me his body, I fell on the floor. They took me outside. I remember that day as I was crossing the road, I was almost hit by a car,” she said.
About a year later, she lost another child who had allegedly fallen into a river, and divers were searching for his body.

She said she was overwhelmed at the sight of many people who gathered around the river following the news.
“After a long search, they showed me his body and I was very heartbroken. I could not contain my grief and shock. I saw the place where he had left his clothes before he allegedly dipped himself in the dangerous river.
My third child was selling scrap metal for a living. He would collect the metals and plastics and sell them. I received a call from the police that he had been found dead. All my kids, except the fourth one, died in the same month of September, but years apart. The fourth who died was my daughter, who left me with seven grandkids,” she cried.
