He wrote, “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well this thing I have to say is short but also long. I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now and currently filed for divorce. I would grant a press release soon to say my story not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
Later on his Instagram page, it was claimed that his account had been hacked and the post was not true.
“My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control #onelove!”
Shortly after, 2baba shared a video confirming that his initial post about his marriage was accurate and that his account has not been hacked.
In 2022, 2baba and Annie Idibia renewed their marriage vows in a ceremony attended by close friends and family members.
The public announcement of their marital issues has sparked a massive reaction from Nigerians on social media who tackled 2baba for making his marriage problems public.
Many questioned his timing in making the announcement, especially when his wife, Annie, was already facing backlash on social media for her actions in the African reality television series ‘Young, Famous and African’.
