Speaking to newsmen after casting his vote around 12:19pm at Ahiafor Umuru-Umuehim Nvosi Polling Unit 017 in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area,expressed satisfaction with the turnout of voters and orderly conduct of the election.

He said that, aside from minor disruptions in Obingwa and Ohafia LGAs, the process had been largely peaceful, with security agencies deployed to maintain order where needed.
The governor encouraged Abia residents to vote for credible candidates who can deliver their campaign promises.
He also reiterated the importance of choosing leaders based on competence rather than political affiliation.
Otti said that local government elections were particularly significant because they impact rural communities directly, allowing residents to elect candidates they know and trust.
“The point remains that political parties are platforms for running elections and like you would notice, a lot of political parties have problems but irrespective of problems, we have advocated that people should vote candidates that are credible, that have competence, that can deliver.
“If you want to continue to enjoy dividends of democracy, if you want to continue to enjoy performance then, you need to vote people like that.
“I Believe that this election would synchronize with that call I’ve been making because people have been also talking about it, that they are going to vote people who have capacity and it’s a local government election and we all know our people.” he said.
Otti expressed hope that the election would reflect the peoples’ desire for capable leadership and reinforce the delivery of democratic dividends at the grassroots level
Meanwhile, inspite of delays in the arrival of election materials, voting began around 11:15 a.m. in some polling units and around 12:40 p.m. in others areas across Umuahia metropolis.
According to Daily Champion correspondent who visited locations such as Umuwaya Road Primary School Polling Units 001 and 002, Umuwaya Primary School 018, and Urban Ward 1 Umuwaya Primary School Polling Unit 29, School Road primary school voter turnout was impressive.
This strong turnout shows the commitment of voters to exercise their democratic rights, even with initial setbacks.
In an interview, some voters expressed disappointment over the delayed arrival of election materials but were pleased with the peaceful conduct at their polling units.
