Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel has singled out the likes of teammates Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman for praise following Nigeria’s AFCON Round of 16 win against Mozambique on Monday.
Osayi-Samuel insisted that Nigeria’s game is more of intelligence than power, as he pointed out Iwobi and Lookman.
Recall that Victor Osimhen’s brace and a goal each from Lookman and Akor Adams gave Eric Chelle’s side a 4-0 win against Mozambique.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Osayi-Samuel said (via Victor Ademola): “The clean sheet was really important today.
“I think the last two games, we played very well, but every time we get to the 75th minute, we conceded. So as defenders, we just made sure that didn’t happen today.
“Our game is more about intelligence than physicality. Just look at Alex Iwobi, Lookman, others. We are fully focused on the 2025 AFCON.”
