In the midst of the storm, Verydarkman emerged as the unlikely advocate, persistently urging Burna Boy to temper his wrath with mercy.
Now, with Speed Darlington’s release, the outspoken VDM shared his thoughts on Burna’s decision to let the matter rest once again.

Nigerian online crusader Martins Vincent Otse, better known by his bold alter ego Verydarkman (VDM), has come forward with a fiery response, shedding light on the events surrounding the release of rapper Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington (Akpi).

His sudden bail, granted by the Nigerian Police Force, has been shrouded in mystery and speculation, and Verydarkman has come forward to drop some tantalizing hints about why this dramatic twist came to be.

The public first learned of Speed Darlington’s release on December 23, through a post from his legal counsel, Stanley Alieke, via Instagram.

This came after a month-long ordeal, which began with Darlington’s rearrest on November 27 during a performance in Owerri, Imo State.

The very reason behind his initial arrest—his abusive and reckless outbursts directed at Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy—was the driving force that led to his second stint in custody.

As the drama unfolded, Verydarkman, who had been fiercely advocating for Speed Darlington’s release, was not shy about placing blame on the rapper himself while simultaneously urging Burna Boy to show mercy.

But after the dust settled and Darlington was finally released, Verydarkman took to social media to express his elation, hinting at a powerful development behind the scenes.

In his post, he celebrated the rapper’s release, giving a nod to Burna Boy for hearing the impassioned pleas from him and others, choosing to forgive Darlington instead of locking him up for Christmas and the New Year.

He wrote;

“Spend Darlington Has Finally Been Granted BA!I, Thank You Burna Boy For Listening To Our Pleds And Not Letting Him Spend His Xmas And New Year Celebration Inside Pr!son…
