The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared all the Chairmanship seats in the 13 local government areas in Nasarawa State in the November 2, 2024 local government polls. Chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), Barr Ayuba Wandai- Usman declared the results in Lafia on Sunday.
He said the Chairmanship candidates of the APC across the 13 local government areas have scored the highest number of votes cast during the election.
The NASIEC boss listed winners of the Chairmanship election to include; Safiyanu Isa ( Akwanga LGA) , Umar Dan-Akano( Awe LGA) Jonathan Addra (Doma LGA), Abubakar Madaki (Karu LGA), Adamu Aboki, Keana LGA) and Idris Damagani (Keffi LGA).
Others announced were; Bitrus Agbawu, (Kokona LGA) Mohammed Haliru ( Lafia LGA) , Mohammed Ahmed (Nasarawa LGA) , Iliya Aliyu ( Nassarawa-Eggon) , Isa Sani, Obi LGA) Murtala Danmadami, (Toto LGA) and Ezekiel Jaga( Wamba LGA), respectively.
According to Wandai – Usman, the exercise was free, fair and peaceful, and there was no record of violence during the exercise.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to maintaining standard democracy practices by guaranteeing a credible, transparent and acceptable elections.
The Chairman appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for providing the enabling environment for local autonomy to conduct elections and ensuring that the exercise recorded a successful exercise.
The NASIEC boss also expressed satisfaction with the electorate for coming out to exercise their franchise so as to bring about popular leaders at the grassroots. He also commended the cooperation of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), security agencies, observers and the media for their continued partnership and called for sustenance.
