Rivers State elder Anabs Sara Igbe has claimed that Olusola Saraki, the former leader of the Senate during the Second Republic, cleared the path for his son Bukola Saraki to become Kwara State governor.

e claimed that after taking power, Bukola noticed that his father’s political goals for the state differed from his own, therefore he requested him to resign. He claimed that even though it was uncomfortable at first, the senior Saraki obeyed and let his son rule on his own.

Igbe made this statement in an interview with Silverbird TV while speaking about the political crisis in Rivers State between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike. It would be recalled that Wike supported Fubara’s ascent to power however their relationship became strained
