Asari Dokubo “Only A Small Part Of The House Of Assembly Was Affected, That Does Not Translate To Demolition”

Asari Dokubo, a well-known traditional ruler in Kalabari Kingdom, described his visit to the Rivers State legislature following the fire event, stressing that the fire affected just a tiny portion of the legislature and did not constitute a state government demolition.

Regarding the conflict between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, he said that different people in Rivers have different perspectives. He did point out, though, that a sizable portion support Sim but oppose demolishing the House of Assembly edifice.

He said in a live video on his official Facebook handle, ”After the assembly was burnt, I went there. I went to see the commissioner of police, I saw the structure. Only a small part of the House of Assembly was affected, that does not translate to a demolition.

Do you know how big that complex is? We should not support evil for whatever reason. We can be against Wike, we can be against Sim but we should not support evil and encourage evil. Because the evil you support today will come back tomorrow to haunt you.

A lot of Rivers people that I talked with are on the side of Sim and that is the truth of the matter.”
