The abduction was first reported by security expert Bakatsine, who shared the news on his X handle. According to Bakatsine, the gunmen ambushed the group while they were on the road, capturing them and taking them to an unknown location. The victims’ identities, aside from Majidadi, have not been disclosed.
Bukkuyum Local Government Area is one of the regions in Zamfara State that has been frequently targeted by bandits, who are notorious for such criminal activities. Other areas such as Shinkafi, Maradun, Zurmi, Anka, Talata Mafara, and Tsafe have also faced similar security challenges, with kidnappings and other violent crimes on the rise.
At the time of reporting, no official statement had been released by the Zamfara State Police or the government regarding the kidnapping.
