Chelsea take on Leeds United this weekend but have a number of injury issues to deal with ahead of the clash as Graham Potter provides updates on Reece James, Mason Mount, Thiago Silva and more

Chelsea have been dealt another injury blow ahead of their Stamford Bridge clash against Leeds United with Mason Mount ruled out of the match and Reece James facing a race to be fit. The news comes following Thiago Silva having been confirmed to have suffered knee ligament damage earlier in the week.….CONTINUE READING

Graham Potter confirmed that Silva could be out for a period of around three weeks, while revealing that Mount was suffering from an injury with his abdomen, while James had felt some tightness in his hamstring. The latter could still feature but remains a doubt.

N’Golo Kante took part in his first full training session on Friday having been involved to varying degrees through the rest of the week. The Frenchman is yet to feature since Potter took charge of the club, and is unlikely to earn minutes against Leeds and has seen his recovery managed well over the last five months.

Edouard Mendy, who required surgery on his hand earlier this year was also confirmed to be making good progress.

Potter said in his press conference : “Thiago will be around six weeks. Mendy making progress. N’Golo had his first full training session today but will need time. Mason has had a problem with his lower abdomen area so he will miss the game tomorrow. Reece has tightness in his hamstring. A doubt tomorrow.”….CONTINUE READING
