Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have launched another attack in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno State. During the attack, the armed insurgents killed a policeman and a woman, and looted the police armory, seizing arms and ammunition, according to reports from Daily Trust. They also set fire to two patrol vehicles and a motorcycle.
The assailants reportedly caught the security personnel off guard, arriving at the police station around 1:00 AM and engaging in a gunfight with the officers until 3:00 AM.
“They overpowered them, gained access to the police station, looted arms and ammunition, and destroyed two patrol vehicles. One vehicle belonged to the police, and the other to the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF),” a source reported.
Hon Abbas Ali Abari, Chairman of Konduga Local Government, confirmed the attack but provided no further details. The Police Public Relations Officer for Borno State Command, Nahun Kenneth, has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
