BREAKING: Fire Razes Nigerian Police Barracks In Lagos

A barrack belonging to the Nigeria Police Force division, located at Mushin, popularly known as Olosan Police Station was razed by fire on Monday night.

It was learnt that the fire broke out at the facility on Monday, 24th March, 2025 around 6:30pm and destroyed a significant portion of the facility.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the fire was seen severely damaging the facility, and fire service operatives were making significant efforts to extinguish the flames.

The incident was confirmed by the DPO of Olosan Police Station, CSP Taiwo Sodiq who also clarified that it was the barrack section that was on fire, and not the police station as widely reported earlier.

“Yes, there is a fire incident at the police barrack of the police station, not the police station, and the firefighters are currently on the ground to extinguish the fire,” he told newsmen.

The fire was ultimately extinguished by the fire servicemen.

The extent of the damage done by the fire is yet uncertain as neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Fire Service has issued an official statement on the damage recorded during the incident last night.

In a similar report in December 2024, SaharaReporters reported how a section of Okokomaiko Police Station located in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State was burn by fire from a loaded diesel tanker.

It was learnt that the tanker, laden with 10,000 litres of diesel was supplying a network mast when it caught fire while discharging its content.
