Sources told SaharaReporters on Saturday that some buildings are already being torn down in Coker, echoing similar demolitions carried out in the area in July last year.
Panic has spread among residents of Mosafejo Idiaraba CDA and Precious Seed CDA, with community members urging one another to remain alert.
The affected areas reportedly include Ogo-Oluwa, Oke-Eri, and several adjoining streets, where residents are calling for immediate intervention.
Videos obtained by SaharaReporters show heavy police presence and task force operatives moving through the community, intensifying concerns about forced evictions.
The source said, “Just now the Lagos State taskforce, Nigerian police are currently in Coker Oworonshoki community in their numbers. We however are not sure if their plan is to continue the demolition of buildings in the community just like they did in July last year.
“They have started bringing down buildings in Coker. Residents of Mosafejo Idiaraba CDA and Precious seed CDA, don’t sleep, taskforce are around. Residents of Ogo-Oluwa, community, Oke-Eri, precious seed and other streets wake up, don’t sleep.”
The source told SaharaReporters that this was exactly what they did last year in July when they came to demolish their building.
