The attack occurred between 11 p.m. and midnight, leaving the community in disarray.
According to a resident, Wayas Musa, two victims managed to escape, while seven others were later released by the kidnappers to go and gather ransom for the remaining hostages.
Among those released was Na’omi Kayit, who disclosed that her two daughters remain in captivity.
One of the daughters is a student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, while the other studies on scholarship in Togo and was home on break.
