Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has approved the appointment of Dauda Iliya as his official spokesperson and Special Adviser on Media. The governor’s approval was released in a statement on Friday by his SSA on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi.

Dauda Iliya is currently the chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Borno chapter. He hails from Kwaya-Kusar Local Government Area in the southern part of the state.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Linguistics from the University of Maiduguri and later obtained his master’s in Mass Communications from the same University in 2024.

He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists and the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters.

Until his appointment, Dauda Iliya worked as a reporter for federal radio corporations covering Borno State.
