“I noticed the banner causing some controversy, and I sent a message to the mosque community. They informed me that it had been removed, so I came to confirm for myself. As you can see, the banner that caused the issue is no longer here,” Alabi said in the video. He also apologized for any inconvenience the incident might have caused, noting that the removal took place on December 18.
The mosque’s swift response to the situation by taking down the banner suggests that its management was sensitive to the concerns raised by the public, recognizing the message’s potential to inflame tensions between religious communities.
