Responding via his X account on Sunday, Fani-Kayode dismissed the claims as baseless, asserting that Nigeria does not require assistance from France or terrorist organizations to destabilize Niger if it so desired.
He accused Western powers of sponsoring terrorist groups in the West African subregion over the past 15 years, emphasizing that Nigeria, as a primary victim of these attacks, would never engage in such actions.
Fani-Kayode wrote:
“If Nigeria wanted to destabilize Niger Republic, I do not believe that we would need France or any terrorist organization to do so. I have maintained that the Western powers are behind the terrorist groups that have plagued the West African subregion over the last 15 years.
“The Nigerien Military Head of State, Abdourahamane Tchiani, would do well to be careful not to provoke our wrath with his absurd assertions.”
He criticized Tchiani’s allegations that Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu were colluding with France to sponsor terrorism, describing them as “infantile, mendacious, and asinine.”
Fani-Kayode warned that Tchiani’s remarks could provoke Nigeria’s government, highlighting that the defense budgets of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso combined are significantly lower than Nigeria’s.
He further called on the Federal Government to consider stronger measures if such provocations persist.
“It is a squalid attempt by the Nigerien Head of State to sow the seeds of dissension in our country, to alienate our people from constituted authority, to divide our people, and to undermine the Tinubu administration,” Fani-Kayode stated.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY| SEE THE IMPORTED RICE THAT HAS KILLED 935k PEOPLE IN NIGERIA JUST NOW. He urged Nigeria to remain vigilant but uncompromising in the face of such allegations, warning that the country is under no obligation to tolerate undermining acts or baseless accusations...Tap To Read The Full Story Here.
