A chilling plot to assassinate Donald Trump has been uncovered with the unsealing of US court documents that charge an individual claiming he was instructed by an Iranian government official to kill the president-elect before this week’s election. The nefarious scheme came to light during an investigation into Farhad Shakeri, an Afghan national pegged as an Iranian government instrument, who was deported from the States following a stint in prison over robbery charges.
According to the criminal complaint that was opened in a Manhattan courtroom, Shakeri spilled the beans to investigators, revealing that back in September he was commanded by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard to produce a plan within seven days to provide surveillance and eventually take out Mr Trump.
Two other men, allegedly roped in for additional assassination missions—including one targeting a well-known Iranian American journalist—were arrestedlast Friday. While those characters are under lock and key, Shakeri is still at large in Iran.

In a delivered statement, Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said: “There are few actors in the world that pose as grave a threat to the national security of the United States as does Iran.”
This bone-chilling revelation unfurling just after The Donald’s surprise ballot box triumph highlights, as per federal officials, Iran’s relentless drive to aim their crosshairs at US government officials in the US, reports the Express. Just a year ago, the Justice Department cuffed a Pakistani man with Iranian links, charging him with hatching a murder-for-hire scheme.
