Gists9ja reports that Ikiriko addressed the claims at an appreciation event hosted by Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, in Ochigba Town, Ahoada East Local Government Area. The event was organized to celebrate the contributions of leaders from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) who have supported Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Refuting Allegations
Ikiriko directly responded to accusations made in a viral video by Victor Odili, a former Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA). Odili claimed that Wike had required council chairmen to authorize ₦20 million deductions from their monthly allocations.
“The claim that we submitted letterheaded papers and signed authorization for monthly deductions is a blatant lie. Nothing of such happened,” Ikiriko said, urging political leaders to avoid baseless accusations.
He added, “Let us not insult elders or engage in unnecessary controversies. Whatever we are witnessing now will eventually fizzle out.”
Commending Unity and Support for Wike
Ikiriko lauded Nwuche for fostering unity among PDP and APC members in the region, highlighting the warm reception Wike received during his December 26 visit to the area.
“What we witnessed the other day was historic. Nwuche has shown that goodwill transcends holding a government position. It is evident that those who stood with Wike during the political crisis in the state are now benefiting from their loyalty,” he remarked.
Nwuche Praises Resilience Among Leaders
Nwuche, in his remarks, commended regional leaders for their dedication, particularly during the recent PDP thanksgiving events in Ahoada West and Ahoada East.STRANGE INDEED!
