In a statement released on Tuesday by his Media Aide, Dan Nwomeh, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Osinachi Nnajieze, highlighted the need for the adjustment, citing concerns over the wages of Customary Court staff.
The review affects the 459 judges across the 153 Customary Courts in Enugu State, including the chairpersons and members of the courts. According to the statement:
- Chairpersons will now earn between ₦42,989.76 and ₦92,989.76.
- Court members will earn between ₦39,736.18 and ₦89,736.18.
Gists9ja reports that the salary increment follows the rising cost of living and the recent adjustment of the national minimum wage to ₦70,000, which Governor Mbah surpassed by raising the minimum wage in Enugu State to ₦80,000.
Governor Mbah reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of state workers and residents, emphasizing that this salary review reflects his dedication to creating a more equitable and supportive working environment.POLITICIANS ARE NOW GETTING INTO TROUBLE GRADUALLY! $3X TAP3 V!DEO OF ANOTHER PROMINENT POLITICIAN LE4KED ON SOCIAL MEDIA | WATCH NOW BEFORE IT’S DELETED.
