Why Okiro Believes He Stands Out
Okiro emphasized his credentials, leadership track record, and strategic approach as key advantages that set him apart.
Leadership Experience
Okiro cited his roles as a retired IGP and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission, stating:
“I will harness my contacts and collaborate with individuals and governments across Nigeria to deliver quality leadership to Ohanaeze. My experience in addressing security and socio-cultural needs positions me to serve Ndigbo effectively.”
He pointed to his pivotal role in the establishment of the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme during the administration of President Umaru Yar’Adua, which restored peace and boosted oil production in the region.
“I will leverage similar strategies to bring stability to the South-East and address its security challenges,” he added.
Commitment to Ndigbo’s Advancement
Okiro outlined plans to promote Igbo culture, strengthen the regional economy, and mitigate security threats. Clarification on State of Origin
Addressing concerns about his state of origin, Okiro clarified his ties to Rivers State, dismissing any confusion with Imo State’s Ohaji-Egbema.
“I am from Rivers State, specifically the Ogba/Egbema/Udoni community. My records and affiliations, including my time at the University of Ibadan, confirm this,” he said.
He referenced his role as Treasurer of the National Union of Rivers State Students during his university days alongside Andrew Uchendu, a former Senator.
Endorsement from Rivers Ohanaeze Chapter
Okiro expressed confidence in his chances, citing strong support from the Rivers State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The chapter’s President, Chief Lucky Ekeji, and Women Leader, Mrs. Love Chimezie Meregini, have publicly endorsed his candidacy, affirming his eligibility and commitment to the Igbo cause.
Okiro’s declaration underscores his readiness to take on the mantle of leadership and guide Ohanaeze Ndigbo toward a future of cultural preservation, economic growth, and regional security.POLITICIANS ARE NOW GETTING INTO TROUBLE GRADUALLY! $3X TAP3 V!DEO OF ANOTHER PROMINENT POLITICIAN LE4KED ON SOCIAL MEDIA | WATCH NOW BEFORE IT’S DELETED.
