According to the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the new date is Saturday, February 1, 2025.

In a post made on X, Adejobi said the IGP made the announcement while hosting the commissioner for insurance, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Olusegun Ayo Omosehin and his team in his office.

Adejobi saidthe commissioner was accompanied by his deputy in the technical and financial department, Usman Jankara and Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon respectively.

Other members of the commission on the team who visited the IGP include Talmiz Usman, Director (Legal, Enforcement, and Market Development); Mr. Ajibola Bankole, Director (Inspectorate); Mr. Taiwo Babatola Adeoye, Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Insurance; and other members of NAICOM.TOP NEWS TODAY! He said that the NAICOM’s commissioner also commended the Inspector General of Police for his efforts in securing lives and property across Nigeria.

He also commended the IGP’s significant achievements, particularly the establishment of the Police Insurance Bank Limited.

Adejobi said, “He emphasized the need for the police’s assistance in ensuring public compliance with insurance laws. He also requested the Nigeria Police Force’s support in the nationwide enforcement of compulsory third-party insurance, which provides substantial benefits to all road users.

“In his remarks, the IGP affirmed the importance of third-party insurance and announced February 1, 2025, as the commencement date for the enforcement of the relevant laws,” the FPRO said.

He added that the IGP also said that the Third Party Insurance Act mandates all owners to posses the insurance before using their vehicles on public roads.TOP NEWS TODAY!
