According to Deputy Police Spokesperson Khumbo Sanyiwa, the arrest followed a tip-off from concerned citizens. Chataika was apprehended by officers from the Agricultural Research and Extension Trust checkpoint along the Mchinji Road.
Police later conducted a search at Chataika’s residence in Area 50, where they recovered the firearm, though it had no ammunition.
