A platform on X named @BudgITing questioned Senator Kalu over the construction of a 600-metre road project constructed for N218.5 million under the Federal Co-operative College Oji River, Enugu, instead of a 1 km road.

It has also been revealed that the construction company Tramstek LTD received N66.7m on June 15, 2023, and another N66.7m on December 11, 2023. Also, Ice Target Global Ltd. received N85m on December 12, 2023, with nothing to show.

“@BudgITng: Dear Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu @OUKtweets, Is it because your N14 million monthly salary is not enough, so you are now short-changing Nigerians and facilitating poor projects up and down? Come and see the road you facilitated. Between 2020 and 2023, N199 million was paid to Oxford Construction & Waste Management Limited to construct a 2km rural road with asphalt and drainage in Aroikpa Umunneochi LGA Abia State. Is this the end product of all that money? Cause, Distinguished Senator, these things are not adding up.”

@BudgITng: N218.5 million for this? Where’s the rest of the road, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu? This is a 600-metre road project constructed for N218.5 million under the Federal Co-operative College Oji River, Enugu, and facilitated by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, @OUKtweets. The road was supposed to be 1 km for N150 million, but we got a poorly done 600 metres road. How is this acceptable? Meanwhile, Tramstek LTD received N66.7m on June 15, 2023, and another N66.7m on December 11, 2023. Then Ice Target Global Ltd received N85m on December 12, 2023. Half a road, twice the cost! Who are we kidding? #TheBudgetisaMess

Other Nigerians on social media bemoaned the bloated budgets and unhappy results claimed to have been executed by those in authority.

@bizwina: Who is the contractor? Isn’t there a body that oversees these contractors? Their licenses should be revoked.

@anasuachara: The problem with the NASS is not the bloated budget, but their foray into contract facilitation. That’s the major conduit for free cash. Most of the contracts are not done.

@See_Emmy: Why is @officialEFCC not moving around both day and night and arresting these criminals sabotaging the nation? The energy #efcc devotes to Yahoo boys could have been channeled to solving this nation’s real economic crimes.

@RuleofLawNG: Where’s @icpcnigeria and what is their job? I hope the Supreme Court finds @officialEFCC unconstitutional. #ICPC will logically follow and be outlawed. Collecting salaries without doing anything but abusing Nigerians at every opportunity.

@samagoh: This is how they make money off government procurement. To even think that this man was given the opportunity to do a lot of imports like Dangote in the military days but bungled all that to concentrate on stealing from the government. Imagine how tall he would have been like Dangote today....For More READ THE FULL STORY ▶▶
