According to data from FMDQ, the naira closed at N1,538.55 per dollar on Monday, a decrease from the N1,534 traded on Friday, marking a loss of N4.55.
In the parallel market, the naira also weakened slightly, falling to N1,662 per dollar on Monday, compared to N1,660 on the previous day.
Projections for 2025
With the year winding down, Afrinvest has forecasted that the naira may depreciate further, potentially reaching N1,804 per dollar in 2025. This anticipated decline has raised concerns about the future strength of the naira and its impact on the economy.
