According to media reports, the stampede was caused by protests of dissatisfaction with referees’ decisions leading to stone-throwing by supporters leading to the fatal stampedes.

The Nigerian Government in a statement through the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday, expressed deep condolences to the people and government of the Republic of Guinea over the unfortunate incident.

The statement signed by the Ministry”s Acting Spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, reads in parts;

“The Federal Republic of Nigeria expresses its sincere condolences to the government and people of Guinea following the tragic loss of life in the recent stampede during a football match in the city of N’Zerekore which caused the death of 56 persons.|GOD WILL JUDGE THEM: 18+ SEE.
